"Creative Ladies"

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How much fabric do I need for a sofa?

Depending on the piece of furniture the amount of fabric required will vary but usually a sofa with 3 seat cushions, 3 back cushions, and a pleated skirt will take 22 yards of fabric that is 54" wide.

How much do I need for a club chair?

With two removable cushions - 8yds

Should I wash the fabric?

Yes, if you tend to wash and not dry clean pre-washing is always a good idea, but you will strip it of it's scotch guard, so you might want to spray it after. Scotch guard is usually available at department stores.

How long does it take?

Creative Ladies is a group of talented women who work fast; so usually a chair takes a week and a sofa two weeks. We accept smaller jobs in between such as cushions, pillows, and window treatments.

Do you provide fabric at your shop?

Yes, we have a large selection of fabric and will be happy to help you with your selection.

Can we bring our own fabric?

Yes, of course you can bring your own fabric as long as it is drapery /slipcover fabric and is 54" wide. Please call with a description of your piece so we can make sure you purchase enough fabric.

Do you pick up and deliver?

Yes, we do pick up your piece of furniture at no charge as long as you are in a 30 mile radius; if not we have to charge an extra fee.

Will you make a set of arm covers?

Yes, we will as long as you let us know.  It helps with the every day wear on the piece.

Why do I want a slipcover instead of upholstery?

A slipcover can be easily cleaned and it will cost less than upholstery.

Can you make a slipcover from an old slipcover?

We would rather not copy someone else's; work we would rather have the piece in front of us to work on.

Can we send pictures to you so you can give us a price?

Yes, that is a great idea.  We have had several customers do that in the past. Please be sure it is a clear picture.
